You work out to make your muscles strong, right?

You practice your speaking to become a stronger speaker, right?

Would you like to be a peak performer in public speaking?

If you want to be a peak performer in public speaking, you need to do what peak performers do, whether they’re athletes or entertainers. One of the essential activites to perform at your peak is the warm-up.

Below is a 5-minute warm-up, and a 10-second confidence boost routine for right before you speak. Following the lists is a video of me conducting the warmups as a workshop for a small group.

Bonus tip: Video yourself & get a transcript. I suggest getting video of yourself speaking, as well as a transcript (I use TEMI, only 10 cents/minute). Watching this video, I learned some key areas to improve. I realized that my shirt was too short to allow me to raise my hands high in demonstrating stretches, so I purchased a body suit so that I can be very active in raising my hands (and not have my belly show). Reading the transcript made me realize how much I use “and” as a connector and use transitions and filler words such as “so, well, like, actually and you know.”
