(transcript of video): As a speaker, an author, or a coach, would you like to create something where you get paid again and again on the same content?
You can do that in many ways by repositioning and repurposing content such as blog content. I’ll give you an example of something I did this summer.
So, I have some blog posts on my VirtualSpeechCoach.com website and this summer I decided to create two online courses. Some of the lessons came straight out of blog posts I’d already created. And then, I created a few more lessons which then became blog posts yet again. Those blog posts were the basis of some short videos for the course, where I just took the content that was in the post, internalized it, and then said it out in a video in one to three minutes.
Then, the blog posts also became postings for social media. I included some of the short videos as postings in social media as well–Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn. In fact, two of those I did as articles on Linkedin and was contacted by Toastmasters International to actually submit them as articles for the magazine. One appeared in December and another is appearing in March.
Also, you can have newsletter content. You can expand your list. You can use that content again to promote who you are and what you do, while providing some benefits to the people on your newsletter list.
I also created a book because I had these worksheets for the course. I put them into a book–very easy to do as a paperback on Amazon–and then from that I created an interactive ebook on Amazon that actually has some videos from the courses. I also created an in-person masterclass. By the way, little plug I have two all-day masterclasses on February 23rd and March 23rd. If you’re interested, let me know. Plus, I also had some training workshops based on the content as well, and I’ve already received two full-fee offers to present this content for some corporations.
So create content, but don’t just create content, repurpose it and make some money on the same content over and over.
